U.S. Biochar Coalition creates opportunities to raise the profile of biochar systems in the federal and state policy making arenas and educate congressional, administration, adjacent industry leaders and staff on its efficacy and applications as a multi-facted and powerful policy tool.
On May, 11, the USBC brought biochar systems into the Senate 2023 Farm Bill dialogue by facilitating an opportunity for Kathleen Draper, Board Chair at the International Biochar Initiative, to speak about the benefits of biochar systems at Environmental and Energy Study Institute's Senate Briefing on "Climate, Energy, and Economic Win-Wins in the Farm Bill", hosted by U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Chairwoman, Senate Agriculture Committee.
